Can you believe the holiday’s are right around the corner? I was recently in touch with World Vision about their 2015 Gift Catalog and wanted to share info about how they offer gifts but also make a difference in people’s lives. The money raised from purchases of their hand-crafted gifts goes to the Where Most Needed fund, which supports a variety of World Vision’s programs around the world.
The catalogue contains more than 250 poverty-fighting gifts, ranging in price from $16 to $39,000, that improve the quality of life for struggling children and families in the U.S. and around the world. Last year alone, more than 822,000 people were helped through funds generated by the Catalog.
A few favorites of mine from their shop include….
Upcycled Artisanal Bowl
Capiz Shell Coaster
Thai Necklace
To order from World Vision’s Gift Catalog, call 855-WV-GIFTS or click here.
They were generous enough to sponsor a giveaway (USA entries only)! Up for grabs is the Royal Silk Scarf (Value of $95). Winner announced 11/13/15!
“This gorgeous silk scarf adds color to the holidays and supports the needs of children and families worldwide. The luxurious silk is woven by Vietnam’s Ma Chau villagers, who receive sustainable income through their craft.”
Good luck!

This is so wonderful. You should be commended for notifying people of this wonderful catalog aimed at helping the poor and downtrodden and those who are less unfortunate due to no circumstances other than birth and can’t have what we have because we live in the USA the true land of plenty not to mention waste and self-importance and filled with people who’d rather watch The (whore family) Kardashians rather than take time to consider people in far away places who really could use some help from people who have been blessed.
Get the message Pu Yee who only wants a free scarf and couldn’t even respond to the wonderful message contained in this beautiful blog entry aimed at making people think about how much they have and then taking the extra step to help the lepers, cripples, orphans, victims of war and abuse that now so seem to be everywhere . Oh yeah , and all those poor refugees trying to get n trains for Sweden and Germany because life is so miserable where they live in places like Iran, Syria, Iraq, Moldova and even Norway.

I like the Prosperity Cinnamon.

I like bright cooper kettles and warm woolen mittens and the World Vision Catalog.
Mary Gardner, what are you smoking? Prosperity Cinnamon sounds wacky -a- doodle. What’s so great about it?
Are you a BFF of Pu Yee?
Janet Simpson says
Nice post and blog entry about a good cause.
I agree with the others who think Pu Yee is missing the message. We all like the scarf but to only say that is not in the spirit of the post or season.
Keep up the good work. I recommend donations to Rosies Place and Pine Street Inn.

One more thing, what is prosperity cinnamon that Marjorie Gardner is referring to?
Is it a flavoring agent used in cooking?
I read the post and never saw it mentioned, maybe Maggie meant to post it on a baking blog and mistakenly posted it here.
