Eat and Sip in the City

Fall Apple Picking Pics!

Wednesday we took advantage of the sunny, warm weather and headed to Brooksby farm in Peabody, MA to get stocked up on apples earlier in the season then we usually go.

Apple Orchard

Pros included having the whole farm to ourselves practically…

Brooksby Farm

White pumpkins

And apples literally dripping off every branch.

Apples

Cons were we really only brought home Macintosh and Cortland, and we usually like a wide variety. Plus the bake shop only had plain apple donuts, but cinnamon and sugar apple cider donuts are the best!

Macintosh Apple Trees

We spotted some pear trees too…

I had way too much fun taking photos of the sunflower field/plants they have there.

Flower Field

Gorgeous!

I have a feeling we will go one more time in the next couple of months of PYO season! Now off to figure out what to do with all these apples….

Happy Saturday!

Beautiful pics at Brooksby Farm. It is so nice to go during the week when the crowds are not there. Looks like you have lots of apples and will have to get cooking. Have fun – really enjoy reading your blogs every week. I am sure the Happy Couple is still on their honeymoon and will be for a long time to come – just loved your Wedding Pictures.

I’ve never seen those big white things?
Are they squash, pumpkins or gourds?

    Do you eat them?

    Or decorate with them?

They are called ghost pumpkins! You can decorate with them or eat them!

Who would think you could pick apples in Peabody. …I thought you just shopped there.

Crazy….is the farm near rt. 1?

Pick apples and then go to the Kowloon. Bet you and Sal have been there and had a few scorpion bowls

I remember once reading on your fascinating blog that Sal was between jobs and interviewing for positions as an athletic director.

Is he now Sal the magnificent apple picker, tomato farmer, cook, famous fisherman and the big time AD at Revere High?

If you’re ready for a move the University of Texas is looking for an athletic director. But the truth is, who can blame him for not working as you can support him from the blog income abd your work in big time marketing.

In so many ways he’s lucky to have a sweet little sugar mama.

Wow what a good memory ! unfortunately the athletic director thing did not pan out yet ! he is still applying and maybe thinking of gym teacher or high school teacher if he can get certified fairly quickly and transfer over some credits from his other masters degree in sports leadership and management.

My friend Lortissima clued me in to this fun little, or should I say, big time blog. It’s full of good tips.

I hope you made some apple crisp…easy to make and so so so good with vanilla ice cream.

I noticed you went n a Wednesday. Did you and Sal have the day off…lucky you two getting time off in middle of week.

Does Sal have a blog like you but only writing more about things guys like such as sports, whisky, pick up lines, gambling and good strip clubs. Oh yeah, beer, dirty jokes and porn.

They seem to be the only things guys seem to care about. Do you agree.

Anyway tell us more about Sal’s job and/or blog.

We did make apple crisp and it was a baking fail lol our bag was full of cortlands and mcintosh – and when we went to bake them – the apple crisp was mushy – we might go picking again for some really good baking apples next time ! we did make a really delicous apple bread though ! no sal is not a blogger too ! sal has too many hobbies as it is ha he plays pool, golf, and is a big fan of watching football – he is also the more frequent cook around here – he cooks me dinner every night !

I luv luv luv luv the Kowloon and their Mai Tais. They do the trick.

My new bf took me there to their comedy club. hilarious and even better with a Mai tai buzz.the place is friggin huge.

Cool that you and your man can take time off work on a Wednesday to go pick apples and then go to the Kowloon. I’m too tired after work to do anything. Do you two own your own business or are you and Sal like some of my bartender friends who get days off during the week?
