Tis the season for gifts and plenty of giving, so let’s do a giveaway! City Dining Cards, who focuses on coupons for dining locally, was kind enough to share a couple of decks to give to my readers! I have posted about them a few times and shared what a great concept it is. Basically you get a deck of cards, that looks just like playing cards. Each one has details on a restaurant you can go to and get $10 off as long as you spend $30!
What also makes these cards and this concept great is that five percent of all sales from City Dining Cards: Boston will be donated to The Greater Boston Food Bank. Last year, the company raised $1,225 for the non-profit organization from sales of the 2012–13 deck! “We are grateful to City Dining Cards for their partnership in our mission to End Hunger Here With each sale, they are enabling us to provide a meal to someone in need and help the one in nine in eastern Massachusetts who are at risk of hunger,” said Suzanne Battit, GBFB Vice President of Development.
The 2013–14 decks of City Dining Cards are available for the following cities:
They also have a new fun product: Fridge Phrases featuring over 200 magnetic words pertaining to Boston as well as College Life, Over the Hill, Sexy Time, Not a Hipster, and Fabulous. “Just like the City Dining Cards, we want to celebrate what makes Boston unique,” says Patrick Finan, founder of City Dining Cards. “Bostonians take pride in what separates them from other cities — including the strange but wonderfully unique phrases and sayings used every day. It’s a great gift for friends and family, or for anyone to enjoy that knows and loves the city.” Details on those can be found at: www.citydiningcards.com and www.fridgephrases.com.
A deck of City Dining Cards costs $20 and can be purchased at local retailers in Boston, including Whole Foods, Porter Square Books, and Firefly, and online at www.citydiningcards.com. Cards are valid now through December 31, 2014. Also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr.
Now for the giveaway! Comment below with the city you would want the cards for and the restaurant you are most excited to save $ at! Comment again if you are a Facebook follower: https://www.facebook.com/eatandsipinthecity for bonus entries and if you subscribe to Eat and Sip in the City by email, comment separately that you are a follower:) Good luck! I will announce the winners Monday December 9th!
