I recently wrote about the 9th Annual Mayor’s Holiday Special offering dining discounts. But here is another way to save on eating out locally! Boston City Dining Cards. Basically what happens is you buy a full deck of cards for $20 (which look and feel exactly like regular playing cards). In the pack, there are 50 $10 discount cards to use at local restaurants. You bring a card to a restaurant on the list and make sure the bill is $30 or more and you get $10 off your bill.
The cards are available to purchase at the website or at select local retailers. They are valid through December 31, 2013, so there is plenty of time to eat at old favorites or try out some new dining destinations. What also makes it great is that 5% of the proceeds from sales of the cards go to the Greater Boston Food Bank. Last year, 35 million pounds of food was donated thanks to the Greater Boston Food Bank and this program takes pride in assisting towards their cause.
The list of restaurants involved that stand out to me are options in my neighborhood like Antico Forno, Piccola Venezia, and Goody Glover’s plus Brighton favorite Tasca, Cambridge hotspot The Red House, and sushi at Fenway from Basho Japanese Brasserie would be great. Each card is kept together with others in the area and says the neighborhood so you can flip through them quickly. So now the moment you have been waiting for…..It’s about time for another giveaway here at Eat and Sip in the City! I have a deck of Boston City Dining Cards for one lucky reader.
Comment and let me know: You became a subscriber of my blog, followed me on Facebook, followed me on Twitter, or which restaurant on the list you have been to, OR which restaurant on the list you really can’t wait to go to with the discount card! This giveaway is only for US residents and will go through next Wednesday November 14th, 2012 at 5 pm EST. Good luck.

My favorite go-to place in the North End is Antico Forno – reasonable price, good size portions, and the food is always good. My fav items to get there are: the eggplant app baked with ricotta cheese, and their bolognese! YUM!!!
