Here are my worthwhile reads from the web this week (for this week 9/10):
People can’t seem to get enough of quinoa these days! Eat Yourself Skinny posted a recipe for Apple Cinnamon Quinoa Cereal that sounds like a perfect fall-centric breakfast.
Speaking of apples, Health.com featured 25 Amazing Apple Recipes. I definitely want to make the Updated Waldorf Salad.
Sun-dried Tomato Tuna Melts on Tasty Kitchen website feature tuna with spinach, goat cheese, and sun dried tomatoes, along with olive oil, vinegar, and mustard, for a mayo-free sandwich I am dying to try! Perfect for Meatless Monday’s.
On Carrots ‘n Cake, I am intrigued by the Microwaveable Nut Butter Cookie for One. I always need something sweet after a meal, even if it is just a bite, and this seems like a good idea, rather than a whole batch of cookies to tempt me for a few days.
Happy Rosh Hashanah to those that celebrate! Food and Wine did a feature of holiday recipes including one for kugel.
Perfect for football gatherings today, Joy the Baker posted a recipe for Baked Chili Cheese Fries (using chili powder not actual chili), that would definitely please the gang during the game.
Now that the temps are dropping, I am already all about soups! I had French onion last night at the Met bar in Natick by the way and definitely recommend it! Anywho, I also want to make this Italian Wedding Soup on Taste as You Go. I may do turkey or chicken meatballs instead of pork, but beside that the recipe sounds divine.
The Boston Eater webpage said an ice bar is coming to Boston. “Faneuil Hall will soon have a bar made out of ice, says Grub Street, which reports that Frost Ice Bar is coming to town this spring,” the article states. I can’t wait to find out more details on this unique new Boston drinking spot!
New bar alert! Kendall Square has welcomed Belly Wine Bar.
With 9/11 occurring this week, Penelope Trunk featured Lessons with 9/11: How to live without regret. There are some great points within the article and it is definitely worth reading.
So this was a big weekend for me! I may have mentioned I have been researching to start up my own small biz with a co-worker. Well, we finally took the plunge and made it official! We submitted the paperwork with the state to obtain our employee ID number and register our company name Baby Bump Bundle, LLC, to get the ball rolling. We will be an e-comm business providing pregnant women with gift baskets (or bundles!) each trimester and also will feature bundles for new babies too, perfect for shower gifts. This article from AMS Daily “Stop Waiting for Everything to be Perfect” really did help me to stop over analyzing, have faith in the idea and the work we have accomplished so far, and just dive right in and realize I can conquer each step as I go!
Hope you had a great weekend!

i don’t really know anybody who’d go to the ice bar, i’ve been there once because of my job. so i didn’t pay. i guess it was interesting, but not really something a local would do.
