Eat and Sip in the City

Buyer Beware – Starbucks Pumpkin Latte Nutritional Info

Buyer Beware…or shall I say drinker beware? I took the plunge and got the Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte this morning. I am super tired from working like a madman lately so a Venti was in order. As you know, I have been attempting (emphasis on attempting ha) to watch what I eat and drink and follow WW. I got a skinny version where they used skim/fat free milk, no whipped cream, no extra sweeteners, and thought to myself that HAD to save some calories. Not so much!

The stats/nutritional info, even with the substitutes made, are as follows:

Tall: 200 calories, 0 g fat, 38 g carbs, 11 g protein, 0 g fiber – Weight Watchers PointsPlus 5
Grande: 260, 0, 50, 14, 0 – WWPP 7
Venti:  330, 0, 64, 18 , 0 – WWPP 9

Don’t get me wrong, they are pretty darn tasty though. It is like drinking fall through a straw! Reminded me of the finale of Thanksgiving dinner when you eat a nice piece of pie. If you don’t care about things like calories or points, drink away! Add that whip cream! Allow them to put in the full calorie and fat milk! But for me, I need to stick to something a bit healthier.

Here is a pic of the NOT light version from their site:

Question: What do you think about the drink? Worth the calories?

I think the full fat version is worth it once in a while, a long while, like maybe one a month or 2x a month. I don’t really drink coffee, but when I do, I usually get a cappuccino for a post-dinner drink with my dessert. And once a year, I get this amazing Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks… maybe twice… depends on my mood.

You did well by getting the non-fat. I’m proud of you for trying! I am not a huge fan of non-fat things, because they just don’t taste as well. So, I just do it in moderation 😉

I think i will stick with pumpkin pie for the calories/points. I don’t like drinking calories instead I prefer eating them!
