When you’re throwing a baby shower (or hosting any brunch party), one of the best ways to show the mom-to-be (or guests) that she’s known and loved is to offer some of her favorite foods – whether pregnancy cravings or consistent comfort foods. As a host, the benefit of offering a bar-style spread is that it’s not only delicious, it’s decorative, easy, and fun. Here are some ideas to get your baby shower bar going:
1. Cereal Bar – Offer a variety of fun cereals that will throw guests back to their childhoods. Skip the sensible options and stick with sweet, and offer a variety of milk options as well. Cute bowls and spoons make an adorable addition.
4. Yogurt Parfait Bar / FroYo Bar: Move over, ice cream – Pickles and FroYo (frozen yogurt) are here to stay (or regular or greek yogurt). This healthy option is perfect for topping with fruit, nuts, chocolate, cereal, or anything her pregnant heart desires. Use wine or cocktail glasses or something like this and suggest layered parfaits for an elegant twist.
6. Juice Bar– Healthy and delicious, fresh juice is perfect for moms committed to eating well, even while eating for two. Offer a variety of fruits and veggies and be sure not to skip add-ins like basil and ginger. Or you could even do a smoothie bar and have someone whipping up customized drinks with fun straws!
7. Waffle Bar – Everyone loves a good waffle. Heat up your iron and let guests add sweet and savory options like fruit, chocolate, and even bacon. Have waffles be the main event – they’re fun, filling, and wonderfully customizable.
Bon Appetite and happy party planning!
