It’s time for a rundown of this week’s favorites!
- I know summer is winding down, but I am loving the Beautycounter Countersun Mineral Sunscreen Mist SPF 30 sunscreen I ordered here. The way it sprays on is unlike any sunscreen I have used before and it works great to protect from harmful rays, even when swimming or sweating in the hot sun! I use it for the whole family!
2. I set up shop selling clothes and items I don’t need anymore on Mercari! Of course, I cannot resist also buying a few things. With my b-day month coming up (October!) I got these opal glitter Kate Spade earrings for only $12!
3. We have been eating tomatoes every day from the garden! We also have tons of zucchini, green beans, onions, eggplant, cucumbers, and peppers, so there is never a shortage of veggies over here. The husband makes a simple salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and capers with a homemade vinaigrette for almost every dinner! The twins have started “helping” in the garden pulling weeds, picking veggies, and watering the plants.
4. Built Bar the delicious protein bar company featuring 100% pure, dark chocolate, came out with a few new flavors and revamped its classic recipes! The texture of these bars is light and fluffy and it reminds me of 3 musketeers bars. Among the many flavor options, there is peanut butter brownie, carrot cake with walnuts, and even german chocolate cake. I like how they offer mix packs – I can’t wait to dig through the box and try each and every one of them, with around 19 g of protein and under 200 calories!

They were extremely mindful of social distancing – with limited visits from the waiter, plenty of space around our table, no physical menu – you just look on your phone, masks on when you are not at your table, and a lot of other ways to make guests feel safe. To start, we went with the oysters. Fresh, cool, and delicious!
For dinner, I ordered the filet mignon with bearnaise sauce. It was cooked beyond perfect! Unfortunately for the husband, his ribeye steak was a bit overdone for his liking. The waiter offered a new steak or to talk to a manager but he ate it as is. To compensate, the waiter treated us to creme brulee dessert and topped off his wine!
Hope you had a great week – what is one of YOUR favorites lately?
