Will you guys be celebrating and watching the Derby this weekend?
I wanted to pop in and share a perfect wine to sip during the festivities. 14 Hands 2013 Limited Release Kentucky Derby® Red Blend Columbia Valley and new 14 Hands 2014 Stampede Red Blend Columbia Valley are available now nationwide. Besides a drink idea to savor for yourself, a bottle would make a great gift for a Kentucky Derby® themed party host/hostess or even a Mother’s Day idea if your mom is into the Derby excitement too. Or they would make a unique addition to your wine collection, to save for another special occasion.
Some information from the brand 14 Hands Winery about the two wines:
- “The 2013 Kentucky Derby Red Blend is a limited edition wine, commemorating the 142nd annual Kentucky Derby and the winery’s continued partnership with the “Run for the Roses,”™ four years running. Similar to the previous vintage, this sophisticated wine offers a harmony of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to provide a flavorful wine experience that showcases juicy Washington fruit character.”
- “The 2014 Stampede Red Blend joins a successful family of red blends from the winery, including the perennial fan-favorite Hot to Trot Red Blend and the Kentucky Derby Red Blend. Stampede offers a lively combination of Syrah, Merlot, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Mourvèdre to provide a rich, flavorful wine experience. This full-bodied red blend features the aromas and flavors of spice, cedar, cola and cherry, with a lively acidity and a dramatic enduring finish.”
Good news! The wines are available at your local stores or online on 14Hands.com at just $12 each! Wow, they make wine everywhere now, kind of like Kardashians being everywhere.
I always thought Kentucky made Bourbon not wine. It sounds delicious.
I guess the name 14 Hands must refer to how many hands it takes to pick the grapes, sort them and press them. That’s cool.
Horses scare me, but my father loved the race track. He was a real degenerate gambler.
