New products from Pepperidge Farm

Pepperidge Farm is celebrating their 75th anniversary on August 15th! They are loved for their breads, crackers, and cookies, in Boston and beyond. To commemorate the occasion, they have a few new products to look out for at your local grocery store, in the New England area. I recently got a taste of them and was pleased with all the products I received.

The Simply Natural Breads are their newest bread products that pay tribute to the first bread recipe they used in 1937, by founder Margaret Rudkin.

They pride themselves on using whole grains with whole wheat flour, honey, milk, butter, and molasses in the new breads. Plus there are no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. Each slice is 110 calories and is low fat at 1.5 grams of fat and in one slice, there’s 3 Weight Watchers Points Plus.

Both breads in the Simply Natural line, Honey Wheat and Honey Oat, are soft with a smooth brown crust, but the Honey Wheat is a bit darker in color. The Honey Oat is heartier in texture but both will hold up to as little or as many sandwich toppings as you prefer. Just like other wheat breads, they are great toasted up for breakfast with eggs, jelly, or butter, or piled high with turkey or your favorite protein and veggies.

They also have two options that will appeal to kids as well as adults. The Goldfish® Soft bread is available in Brown Sugar or Cinnamon at 3 Weight Watchers Points Plus.

How can you not feel a bit cheery when you see a cute, smiley fish shaped, soft bread ready to nosh on any time of day.

They are already sliced in half and ready to eat as is or you can even toast them and enjoy them with your favorite spread.

Butter, jelly, peanut butter, cream cheese, or really the options are endless on how to eat them. The bf also suggested eating the Brown Sugar one with ham for a savory and sweet sandwich. Since they both have a warming and flavorful taste, they could even be eaten plain! I found all the products I tasted to be soft and fresh tasting.
