Scenes from my Saturday: Kittery, Maine

The bf and I decided to risk the cloudy weather and rain in the forecast to take a drive up to Maine yesterday for lobster lunch and shopping. We were a little bit worried about how the day was going to go because on the drive up, a rock hit the windshield and made a big crack on the bf’s side. He was still gung-ho about it though so we took the hour and a half drive up there.

First stop, lobster lunch! We both got lobster’s that were just under 2 pounds and then shared cole slaw and onion rings, with an order of mussels to start. Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier is so casual, with picnic tables lined up along the deck, overlooking the water. People bring in their own booze and some even bring along sides but we just ate and drank what they had to offer.

Next up; shopping around.

Hitting up Yummies candy shop is trouble but I couldn’t resist getting chocolate to nosh on and share with the office.

The bf likes the sports stores so Puma, Nike, Reebok, and Under Armour were on his list and the Trading Post too. I got a t-shirt for the gym, which I love, at Under Armour!

I bought some stuff at Crate and Barrel and I also found a 5 dollar hat at Aldo, flip flops at the Trading Post, a dress at Banana Republic, and yoga pants and this dress at Gap I can’t wait to wear.

We were very lucky because the rain didn’t start until we were wrapping up our shopping trip. The funny thing was the bf’s favorite store is Polo and mine is Loft and we were too tired, the weather was getting terrible, and it was almost 9 pm when the stores were set to close, so we skipped those stores and headed back. It’s probably for the better considering I had already accumulated quite a bit of new stuff. All and all a great trip and I highly recommend it for those looking to get out of Boston for the day.
