My co-worker, who also lives across the street, and I hit up Vito’s Tavern for one last hurrah on Taco Tuesday last night! She is moving out of the neighborhood and up to the north shore this weekend sadly. I will miss her for sure and our walks home from after work drinks. And let’s not forget about how much I will miss her gorgeous view of Boston from the roof deck.
Anyways, we had a great cheap meal that I wanted to share with you the details about. The situation with Taco Tuesday’s is that all tacos are half price from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. The tacos are normally $11.99 which includes 3 tacos and the menu features: Korean Style Tacos with your choice of steak, chicken, pork, or vegetables, with the flavors of Korean barbecue, kimchi, pickled daikon, and salsa roja; Traditional Baja Taco’s with steak, chicken, pork, or vegetables with traditional flavors including cilantro, onion, and pico de gallo; or Fried Fish Taco’s with haddock, kimchi slaw, lime and tequila aioli, pico de gallo, and Sicilian sea salt.
I opted for the Traditional Steak Baja Taco’s. I love the thin slices of radishes to add a crunch and I drizzled on some hot sauce for an added kick. I do wish the steak was in larger pieces, instead of cut up into tiny bites, since they kept falling out of the taco, but I would definitley get them again. They use two corn tortillas for each taco, so for calorie saving purposes, I removed the extra layer since I got a beer and didn’t want to overdo things! Maybe next time I will tell them to skip the second layer all together.
I enjoy that it is fresh tasting though and they don’t use sour cream or cheese or anything heavy to weigh it down, which made it a good choice for a summer dinner. I will definitely give the other tacos a try since the Korean BBQ ones also caught my eye! But all and all, 6 bucks for 3 tacos is not bad in my book.
