I finally popped in to see what the new store on Parmenter Street (#28) Cocoanuts in the North End is all about. It’s been open for three weeks and if you haven’t gotten in there yet, definitely do so! They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm for gourmet snacks and treats.
It’s the perfect spot to pick up a unique snack for yourself or to put together a bunch of options to bring to a BBQ, housewarming, or any celebration that you want to bring a gift. Pricing is anywhere from $1 to $16, so you are sure to find something within your budget. There are many items to choose from including marshmallows, chocolates, and nut mixes in flavors like wasabi.
They feature many local companies like Yes chocolates, which I had a taste of. The root beer chocolate was delicious and filled with a creamy, gooey center and just when you are done chewing, the after taste of root beer fills your mouth! Other companies like Zoe’s Chocolate Co. and Crave Canyon can be found here as well, which has kettle corn in a variety of flavors.
I loved the decorative plate you see on the table when you first walk in that says “All you really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt;” and the pics on the wall too.
One of the owners, Jennifer Reuss’ favorite items for sale are the lil devil’s food cakes they offer, which I definitely want a taste of soon.
Head in there and check it out for yourself!
