It’s a rainy Friday here in Boston and I wanted to grab something quick at Dunkin for breakfast. I went out last night for a couple of glasses of wine and am super tired and I knew cereal at my desk wasn’t going to cut. So I ended up seeing the sign for the new breakfast burrito at DD.
It is under $3 and you can choose veggie or steak. The advertisement on the website says: “Try the Southwest Veggie Burrito, filled with fire-roasted vegetables and southwest spices. Or, go big and add steak for the hearty Southwest Steak Burrito. Give your taste buds a bold wake up.” I thought for sure veggie would be the healthier option and ordered it asap. Bad move really. This is a good example of researching the food before you order.
The nutritional stats are not looking good. The tiny little burrito has 330 calories, 17 grams of fat, 30 carbs, and 2 grams of fiber. In Weight Watcher’s Points Plus that is 9 points! Yikes is all I have to say. If it was ridiculously good, I would not have minded and could just eat a smaller lunch or snack today and add in a longer work out, but I really was not crazy about it and will probably not be giving it another chance.
I always check out the ingredients list in my food and I was not pleased to see this!! I don’t even know what half of those things are! Yes I see some promising items in there like eggs, cheese, black beans, sweet potatoes, corn, and peppers with spices. Check it out from their site:

Yea, pretty intense list right ? Have you tried either of the options yet? What did you think? I think I will pass on this one next time and go for their wake up wraps or other light options.

I tried it once but I never will again. It was not very good and the nutritional facts are a big red flag to me.
