Lipton is now offering a low calorie iced tea mix! There are 6 new flavors which include: Blackberry Pomegranate, Lemon, Peach Apricot, Strawberry Acai, Black Currant Raspberry and the one I sampled, Mango Pineapple.
It is only 5 calories per cup, made from real ingredients, and comes in either single serving or pitcher sizes. I am a huge Crystal Light fan since it is convenient and light and I was very excited to see this new similar offering from Lipton. Best of all, they have been giving out free samples on their Facebook page.
The Mango Pineapple smelled delicious the minute I opened the packet. You can add it to a glass of ice cold water or pour it into a 16 ounce bottle of water. The powder features real tea leaves and real fruit flavors! I found it to be very flavorful and refreshing.
It is a sweet substitute to high calorie juices or sodas. I ended up mixing in some plain sparkling seltzer water for extra fizz (because it was so strong) and it was great! I will definitely be trying more flavors in the near future. The pineapple was the predominate flavor with hints of the mango.
I know exactly why I love it so much. Because one of my all time favorite cold drinks at Starbucks or Boston Common Coffee is their Hibiscus or Tazo Passion tea, mixed with green tea for the caffeine boost! And lo and behold. Guess what this stuff is made with? Yup. Listed on the ingredients is green tea powder and hibiscus extract. Then honey granules and a few other natural flavorings are included as well. Check out their website for more info on this low-cal new drink option.
