Redbones is an amazing BBQ joint in Davis Square in Somerville, Mass., that is the perfect place for all the “authentic down-home-style Southern food” you could ask for. This week my bf and I decided to go all out with some ribs and all the sides to change it up from our usual take out options in Boston. We picked up some amazing food from there, which actually turned into two meals for both of us since portions are so big.
Since everything sounded so good and I wanted a little mix of meats, I got the Barbecue Belt, which features Memphis, Texas, and Arkansas Ribs, along with Beef Brisket, and served with beans and cole slaw, for $18.99. Though I could not differentiate which was which, there was not a piece of meat I did not enjoy. Ribs were huge, brisket was tasty, cole slaw was not drowned in mayo and was crunchy and satisfying, and the beans were good too. Along with a side of fluffy cornbread, side of mashed potatoes, and corn fritters with maple syrup to start, this meal (or two meals in our case) was perfect.
If you want to go and sit down and eat, Redbones serves lunch daily at 11:30am (noon on Sundays) and dinner is served from 4:00pm until 10:30pm (11:00 pm on Fri/Sat). They even have a daily late night menu until 12:30 a.m. with sandwiches, ribs, wings, and apps like fried pickles & jalapenos and buffalo shrimp.
Check out their website for more info. and to view the menu. The highlights include: Memphis and Baby Back ribs, pulled pork and smoked beef brisket, and they also have vegetarian options and fish as well.

You make Redbones sounds so scrumptious that I will certainly check it out next time I am in the Boston area.
