I know it is Friday but I have Sunday on my mind. I took a trip to Scollay Square a couple of Sunday’s ago to check out their beloved Bloody Mary bar, to do research for an upcoming CBS article. Hey, it’s a tough job but somebody has got to do it!
It’s located on Beacon Hill, RIGHT near Downtown Boston and offer both in and outdoor seating. Scollay Square serves lunch and dinner daily plus brunch on weekends. But best of all, they offer up a do it yourself Bloody Mary bar on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. I had the bartender whip me up her best Bloody and chatted with her and the manager from a seat at the bar before going to see what it’s all about.
First you just choose your vodka. Then mosie over to the Make Your Own Bloody Mary bar, near their kitchen and choose your tomato juice.
They even have Clamato, which is clam and tomato juice with spices made into a juice cocktail. There is regular vegetable juice too, no worries. You don’t have to go for the clam juice. I didn’t!
What’s a Bloody Mary without horseradish?
Next kick it up a notch with one of their many hot sauces. They have more then 20 to choose from! And stir in some spices like onion powder, red pepper flakes, and more.
Keep it as hot or mild as you like. Wasabi anyone?
I like everything with a kick to it. What about you?
You can pile the veggies into your glass, including celery, carrots, pickles, asparagus, and olives.
Stir and sip your drink. Crunch on your veggies. And nosh on brunch favorites Saturday or Sunday at Scollay Square!
